The Pallid Son
Adnan Barutçu
San Francisco, October 1946. The first of them came down on a Monday, a little before midnight, and the city had the decency to be foggy about it.
The Titan Club is twelve men who own the city and prefer not to be read. Now someone is hunting them, one by one — and Dixon Hill is hired to stop it, by the men being hunted. He is joined by a figure known only as the Pallid Son: a man who gave his face away and signs with his father's name, who was written into a file fifteen years ago and has come out to close the account.
Written first, read last. The key to all seven. A city that has seen everything and kept nothing — and two men who keep everything and give it back.
Book 7 of seven. A city that keeps its own books.
